A note about fees and why I don't accept insurance
Please consider therapy an important and worthwhile investment in your mental health. My fees are self-pay. This means that I do not accept insurance at this time. In choosing to not accept insurance, this allows for you and I to work in partnership to establish goals, therapeutic processes and the duration of therapy without the mandates or requirements of a third party (your insurance provider). A mental health diagnosis is typically necessary in order to receive insurance reimbursement. Self-pay allows for your information to remain private instead of a being on your medical record. This aligns with my non-pathologizing belief system and my wish to de-emphasize diagnostic models.
Some people choose to use their out-of-network insurance benefits to cover a portion of the cost of therapy. This is done by you paying for the cost of services and then later submitting a "superbill" (provided by me) to your insurance provider for a partial reimbursement for the amount you paid. This options varies according to your insurance provider and coverage.
I accept:
Cash, check, credit card, Venmo, or Paypal.
HSA or FSA debit cards
I aim to increase accessibility to all, especially marginalized groups and those that have been impacted by oppressive systems and economic disenfranchisement. My partnership with Open Path Collective is one option, but not the only option. Please reach out if you are in need and are experiencing barriers to quality care.
